Evidentiary Forensic Disability Examinations™
This service is a comprehensive 
med-legal examination used to:
- Investigate and establish objective evidence of disability and/or work capability for use in impairment ratings, and
- To establish a baseline reference point for all parties to devise an appropriate functional restoration program that benefits the injured claimant in reaching maximum medical improvement and optimal recovery in the shortest time possible,
- To document "friend of the court" physical performance capabilities in med-legal proceedings, and
- As a tool for efficient, safe and sustainable return to work programs.
This service encompasses the following:
- Technology Based Work Simulation Exam – (“what CAN they do”)
- Cognitive Distraction Intra-Data Cross Validation – (“was it their best effort”)
- Discomfort Factoring – (“how does work performance affect discomfort perception and return-to-work”)
- Behavioral Factoring – (“are subjective complaints based on pathology or behavior”)
- Customized Report Writing – a case specific detailed narrative is provided that summarizes the results of the examination as well as addressing all outstanding disability / work capability questions presented at the time of referral.
All examinations are conducted by medically trained peer-reviewed certified work simulation evaluators who collect essential data of physical performance, discomfort and physio-behavioral pain components. All data interpretations are conducted utilizing computational algorithms designed by our multidisciplinary expert panel members. And all Evidentiary Forensic Disability Examination™ reports are reviewed and countersigned by BioFunction®’s Medical Director, Dr. Robert Sussman, who is a practicing Board Certified Occupational Medicine Physician and expert panel team member.
